These four lithographs were published by Fisher, Ben & Co. around 1838-1836 as part of the series "Syria, the Holy Land, Asia Minor, etc." This series included various displays from Bartlett's travels, accompanied by descriptive texts by John Karen. 1836-1838

1. “Beit El Ma, Site of Daphne, The Ancient Riblah”, near Antioch (modern-day Antakya, Turkey). 

 According to legend, Daphne was a nymph transformed into a laurel tree to escape the god Apollo. The area is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including waterfalls and lush landscapes, which Bartlett captured in his lithograph.

 

2. Scene on the River Orontes, Near Suadeah

3.  Village of Beit-Y-Ass, near Suadea, modern (Samandağ in Turkey)

4. “ Castle in Mount Amana, Near the Khan Karamont” was engraved by John Le Keux. 

The ruined castle is situated in a defile of the mountain, on the way from Antioch to Beilan (from  Antakya to Belen)
