  • Asher Ein Dor (Dickstein) grew up in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood of Tel Aviv, his father worked as a shoemaker. As a child, he studied at a yeshiva. In the 1960s, Dickstein was a pioneer in the field of comics and edited a series of comic books called "Buki" which was published between 1967 and 1970.  Air Comics in the children's magazines Haaretz Ozen for Children where he published comic book series, including comic book series based on the stories of Pinchas Sadeh. He also published comics in children's magazines such as "Thimble", "Bambi" and "Adventures for Youth".

     

    As an illustrator, he illustrated and designed covers of many books for Ramdor Publishing including the books "Patrick Kim" and Hasamba.  He made illustrations for "Narcissus Publishing" which published Western books such as "Ringo" and "Tarzan" books in the format of paperback booklets. He worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for the entertainment weekly Lahiton and even created his own logo.

     

    Dickstein repented, became a Chabad follower, and lives in Safed. Even today he is involved in the field of comics and tries to promote the field of ultra-Orthodox comics.
